We hope you're well and enjoying this beautiful summer weather! With the summer well and truly upon us, it can only mean one word: WEDDINGS!
And being one of the top live wedding bands in Sussex means we get to play a lot of weddings by the seaside!
Not long ago, we were the wedding band for a lovely couple, who had their celebrations at the lovely Sandbanks Hotel. And it was a case of déjà vu, as it turned out that the Bride and Groom had seen us perform at one of their bridesmaids wedding the year before!
It's always so lovely to be recommended and the whole wedding party were certainly up for a boogie! The dancefloor was jam-packed from start to finish and it was a joy to perform for them.
And the view wasn't too bad either...
But there was another case of déjà vu yet to come...remember last year after performing at another wedding in Dorset, our van broke down? It was a simple case of the tyre deflating, and this may sound like a bad joke but, ‘how many musicians does it take to change a tyre?’… Turns out five. And a phone call to one of the Dad's!
Well here we are, a year later and once again upon finishing another brilliant gig, and we find that the battery in the car had died (I think it’s safe to say, we are cursed in this county!)
So not only did we have to borrow some jump start cables from the DJ, (what a legend), but we had to try to jump start a car, which yet again no-one had done before, whilst the heavens opened and we got pretty well drenched!
I don’t know if a car can explode from high electric levels and wet connections but apart from Jack, we all moved a fair distance away just to be on the safe side!
So for future gigs in Dorset, we have made a handy check-list:
1. Make sure you know how to jump start a car and change the tyre.
2. Make sure you know where the equipment for jump starting the car and changing the tyre.
3. Buy a pair of jump cables, in case their is no handy on-site DJ to help.
4. Always have your Dad on speed-dial.
